Junmai (純米) – Pure Rice Sake

Made with only rice, water, yeast, and koji mold (no added alcohol). Junmai has a rich, full-bodied flavor with a slightly higher acidity. It is best enjoyed warm or at room temperature.

Honjozo (本醸造) – Light & Smooth

Honjozo contains a small amount of distilled alcohol to enhance aroma and smoothness. This sake is light, clean, and easy to drink. It is typically served slightly chilled or warm.

Ginjo (吟醸) – Fragrant & Refined

Ginjo is made with rice polished to at least 60% of its original size. It has a fruity, floral aroma with a smooth, delicate taste. Best served chilled to highlight its aromas.

Daiginjo (大吟醸) – Ultra-Premium & Aromatic

Daiginjo is crafted from rice polished to at least 50% or more. It is extremely fragrant, complex, and elegant. For a crisp, refined experience, it is best served chilled.

Tokubetsu (特別) – "Special" Sake

Tokubetsu can be either Junmai or Honjozo but is made with special brewing techniques or high-polished rice. This results in a more refined taste than standard Junmai or Honjozo varieties.

Nigori (濁り) – Cloudy & Sweet

Nigori is unfiltered or coarsely filtered, leaving rice sediments in the bottle. It has a creamy texture with a naturally sweet taste. Often served chilled, it is shaken before pouring to mix the rice sediment.

Namazake (生酒) – Fresh & Unpasteurized

Namazake is unpasteurized, preserving its lively, fresh taste. It requires refrigeration and has a shorter shelf life compared to other sakes, making it ideal for those who enjoy a vibrant, fresh flavor.

Aged Sake (Koshu - 古酒) – Rich & Complex

Aged for years, Koshu develops deep umami flavors and takes on a golden color. It tastes similar to sherry or whiskey and is often served at room temperature for a rich and complex experience.

Sparkling Sake (発泡酒) – Light & Effervescent

Sparkling sake is naturally carbonated or infused with CO₂. It is slightly sweet, refreshing, and easy to drink. Best served chilled, sparkling sake is perfect for celebrations and casual occasions.
